Alvvays, Valentine's Day & Millennial Love

If you're young, broke, and disillusioned, I have the perfect musical remedy for this coming Valentine's Day. Sure, you could put on some Adele and pretend like a Galentine's brunch makes your life less complicated, but Adele isn't even sad anymore, and you can't afford gentri-fried chicken and waffles right now.
In 2014, Alvvays (pronounced "Always") released their self-titled first album and I haven't needed another Valentine's soundtrack ever since (sorry, Marvin). Molly Rankin sings about every conceivable complication that Millennials are facing in the dating world; problems for the sordidly single to the happily coupled alike. Her words are like a happy slap in the face and a warm hug at the same time: No matter your relationship status, life sucks; but at least we're all suffering together.
